Junior (stage 4) students undertake mandatory Technology subjects for two years where each student will experience projects and design problems based in the areas of Food, Textiles, Metals, Agriculture, Timber and Electronics.
In Years 7&8 students learn about technologies and uses a range of materials, tools and techniques relevant to the personal, commercial and global areas of human activity. They are taught that technologies assume increased importance when they are applied to solve real problems and to create ideas and solutions in response to needs and opportunities for customers, clients or themselves. They can be used to add functional, aesthetic and environmental value to products.
This forms a basis for our middle school students (Stage 5), to make informed choices for their elective subjects in Years 9 and 10. Students can choose to study Food Technology, Textiles Technology, Electronics Technology, Timber Technology, Metal Technology, of Information Software Technology.
