Welcome to K-6 Faculty

The K-6 faculty of Evans River K-12 School comprises of 195 students in 8 classes: Kindergarten, Year K/1, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5, 5/6, 6.

Staff are supported by an RFF teacher 3 days a week and Reading Recovery/LaS Teacher 5 days a week. Years 4-6 are involved in Transition lessons in the High School, receiving Design and Technology classes for two periods a fortnight. The Senior Early Childhood and Y9-10 PASS classes also support primary programs and carnivals.

Programs currently running in the Primary include: L3, ten (Towards Early Numeracy), the Mathletics online program, Reading Eggs and Eggspress, PBL (Project Based Learning), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Quicksmart, Better Buddies and Rock and Water. Peer Support runs in Term 2, with Y5 and 6 students leading groups from Y1-5 in personal development activities.

Enrichment activities include Jnr and Snr Choir and Dance Groups, Science and Engineering Challenge (Y5/6), University Maths Competitions, Spelling Bees, Public Speaking Competition and our Performance Concert in Term 3.

Excursions include Life Education visits each year, Cultural and Academic related excursions, Tallebudgera and Brisbane for 5-6.

There are interactive whiteboards in Every Classroom and there is also access to a computer room for classes to use during the week. Classes also have access to sets of laptops and iPads for student use.

Our sport programs include Water Sports, Surfing, Rugby, Netball and Intensive Swimming.
