K - 6 Program
At Evans River K-12 School, our K–6 faculty provides a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6.
Our experienced teaching staff is supported by a Release from Face-to-Face (RFF) teacher, as well as Learning and Support Teachers for both K–2 and Years 3–6. These dedicated educators ensure tailored support for all students, helping each child reach their full potential.
Technology and Learning Resources
From Kindergarten to Year 6, our students move through a carefully sequenced digital-learning pathway. In K-2 they program-friendly Blue Bots to grasp the basics of coding and logical thinking; in Years 3–6 they tackle richer challenges with Dash robots; and in Years 5–6 they take on advanced STEM projects using Spike LEGO robotics.
These experiences equip our students with the skills, confidence, and creativity they need for a future-focused world.
Online Programs
Enhancing Learning with Online Programs
Our school uses a range of online tools to support and extend student learning. Essential Assessment helps target individual needs, while Typing Club and Microsoft Reading Fluency build key literacy and typing skills. Students also use Canva and Google Classroom to create, collaborate, and stay organised in their learning.
Sport and Physical Education
Physical activity and team sports are integral to school life. Our students participate in:
- Gala Days & Interschool Competitions
- Representative Pathways in individual and team sports
- Surfing, Rugby, Netball & Intensive Swimming Programs
K - 6 offers resilience projects for parents, community and students.
The Anxiety Project
Our K–2 students take part in the Anxiety Project, a wellbeing program that helps them build emotional awareness, resilience, and strategies to manage worries in a supportive and age-appropriate way. This project involves students, teachers and parents learning a common language and developing a shared toolkit to manage this important issue. Sessions are run once a week after school for 3 lessons in term 1.
Rock and Water Program
Rock and Water decreases bullying and depressive feelings, and increases self-esteem, self-regulation and social acceptance.
Basically, Rock and Water is a course that is delivered over a number of lessons to students in primary or high school. Students learn to stand strong, negotiate using “rock” or “water” verbal approaches, walk away from trouble, consider alternatives to aggression, and develop understandings about who they are, their intuitive feelings and their personal direction.
