Programs in years 3 - 6
Evans River K - 12 School implements a number of programs to support our 3 - 6 students in their independence, learning depth and confidence.
There are a range of programs and opportunities offered to our 3 - 6 students at Evans River K-12 School, these include:
Sport plays a vital role in our school, helping children develop not only physical skills but also confidence, teamwork and resilience. We offer multiple sport programs for our high achievers and regular PE lessons for all students which involve team sports and indoor and outdoor sports.
Design and Technology
Running Cafe Sharkies is an exciting, fun learning opportunity our Years 5 and 6 students at Evans River K-12 School experience.
Each fortnight students from Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to experience and develop skills in Woodwork, Cooking, Metalwork and Computers. These lessons are held in the Technology rooms located in the 7-12 area of Evans River K-12 School.
Excursions
The exploring of Canberra and all it has to offer such as Politics, science and history, is one excursion our Years 4 to 6 experience tri-annually.
Locally students get to take part every 3 years in water sports and camping at the beautiful location of Lake Ainsworth, Lennox Head
As well as these popular trips our students have the opportunity to take part in one more excursion that offers a current life experience.
Year 5/6 students work with Kindergarten students once a week from term 1. This program helps settle Kindergarten students into their first year of school in supportive way. This session is a highlight for both kindy and year 5/6 students each week.
Our peer support program runs in term 2 and is led by 5/6 students. All students from K-6 are involved this is a great opportunity for year 5/6 to develop leadership skills and an opportunity for all students to develop social skills.
