Growing Leaders
Through a range of leadership opportunities, our Years 3–6 students learn to be confident, compassionate, and responsible leaders. Programs such as GRIP Leadership, the Student Representative Council, Peer Support, and the Buddy Program help students develop teamwork, empathy, and initiative: skills that prepare them to lead within our school and beyond it.
GRIP Leadership Program
Our GRIP Leadership Program is designed for our students who hold or aspire leadership roles such as school captains.
- Generosity
Willingness to use what you have been given (time and resources) on behalf of those you seek to influence.
- Responsibility
We all have a responsibility to develop what we have and help others to live well.
- Integrity
A commitment to truth and honesty in dealings.
- People
Every human being is of great significance, and has a purpose to fulfill.
SRC - Student Representative Council
The student representative council is a student-led body within our school that represents the views, ideas and interests of the student community. Representatives are picked by their peers from year 1 to year 6.
Our student representative council work with teachers and school leadership to:
- Improve school life
- Organise events and fundraisers
- Promote student wellbeing
- Strengthen communication between students and staff
Peer Support
The Peer Support Program is a leadership and wellbeing initiative where year 5 and 6 students are trained to support younger students from Year 1 to Year 4.
Our Peer Support Program aims to:
- Build leadership skills in year 5/6 students.
- Promote kindness, teamwork and resilience across the school.
- Help younger students feel safe and confident at school
- Develop friendships across year levels not just within one class.
- Encourage positive behaviour and strong sense of belonging.
Buddy Program
The Buddy Program is a special initiative that pairs year 5/6 students with kindergarten students to help them feel welcomed, supported and safe at school. Our year 5/6 students become positive role models and our younger students gain confidence knowing they have a trusted "big buddy" looking out for them
How our Buddy Program works:
- Buddies meet regularly for planned activities run by teachers.
- Activities are designed to be fun and meaningful focusing on communication and care.
- Older buddies help with school routines especially in Term 1 when Kindy students are still adjusting.
