There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
NAIDOC Week
Our school proudly celebrates NAIDOC week. A special time to recognise and honour the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Across all years we come together to learn about the world's oldest continuing cultures through art, stories, music and activities. We reflect on the importance of Community and Country and show respect for the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play.
Book Week
It's one of the most exciting times of the year, Book Week! In this week we celebrate the joy of reading, the power of imagination and the amazing stories that inspire us every day. Throughout the week students will take part in fun activities, storytelling sessions and our much loved Book Character Parade in which our excited students and staff participate with an audience of parents and community members.
Sports
At Evans River Community School sport plays an important role in building teamwork, school spirit and a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the year students from Kindergarten to Year 12 take part in a wide range of sporting events such as our annual Sports Carnival, Cross Country and Swimming Carnival. Many of our talented students also go on to represent the school at zone and regional competitions showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
CAPA Showcase
Our CAPA Showcase night is a wonderful celebration of creativity and talent across our Creative and Performing Arts Program. Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 come together to share their hard work and passion in music, dance, drama and visual arts creating a vibrant evening full of inspiration. Families, friends and staff are invited to enjoy performances, art displays and exhibitions that highlight the talent of our amazing students.
