WISP - Work In School Program
The Program
The WSIP team has been developed for students who are at risk of disengaging in school or who have additional needs.
It has bee designed to enhance their abilities in areas such as communication, relationships and functional life skills.
The students participate in a WISP Program twice a week and are accompanied by a SLSO.
We believe that students learn better when they are relating well with their peers and teachers.
The WISP Team Program aims to help students get along with others and feel good about themselves as well as develop employabilityy skills through an in-school work program.
Aim -
The major focus of the program is to:
- provide emotional and moral support for students
- promote self-esteem
- encourage an awareness of a range of employment experiences develop mastery of employability skills
- provide support
- create a positive and reevant learning environment
- achieve life skill outcomes across a variety of areas
Outcomes -
Students will:
- develop employability skills
- contributed to the school community feel valued
- feel competent
- improve attendance
- establish relationships
- maximise their potential
